In the world today, you should be careful about trusting people of the world. There are those who would scam you or deceive you and dishonestly take your money. If you make an agreement with someone, he may or may not keep his part of the agreement. Who can you trust? There is one that you can be sure will keep His promises, and that is God. While the devil is the father of lies (John 8:44), God cannot lie (Titus 1:2). You can trust whatever God promises. You can trust Him with your very life.
God is a faithful God. Deuteronomy 7:9-10 “Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face.” Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
When Sarah was initially told by the Lord that she would have a child when she was almost 90 years old, she laughed at what seemed ridiculous (Genesis 18:12). But then she trusted in the Lord. Hebrews 11:11 “By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.” You and I need to judge Him faithful as well. Lamentations 3:22-26 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘Therefore I hope in Him! The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
You can trust God’s promises. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22 “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” He has promised to guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 “But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.” He will make a way of escape from temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” You should not feel guilty for your past sins, because he is faithful and just to forgive your sins. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
God can be trusted throughout your whole life. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” Your labor for Him is not in vain. He will reward you and give you eternal life. Commit your way to Him. 2 Timothy 1:12 “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
Do you trust in the Lord? Are you thankful for His faithfulness to you? Praise God for His faithfulness. Psalms 89:1-2 “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, ‘Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens.’” Psalms 92:1-2 “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.”
Psalms 37:3-6 “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.” My encouragement to you is to trust in the Lord and praise Him for His faithfulness. He is faithful throughout your life with assurance of eternal life.
