Access To The Father

Have you ever contemplated with wonder that we have access to the creator of the universe?  We can go right to the top and we have direct access!  Ephesians 2:17-18 “And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”  Through Jesus and by the Holy Spirit we can come right to God the Father and make our requests and wishes made known.  We don’t have to go through some man or some priest to have our requests made know; we can talk to God directly.

Not only do we have access, but we can be bold and confident in coming to God.  Ephesians 3:10-12  “To the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.”  Also in Hebrews 4:15-16  “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”  Jesus was a man with human characteristics who was tempted like we are tempted and who suffered problems on earth just like we experience problems.  Since He has gone through life like we have, he can sympathize with us.  He is now our advocate, pleading our case before the father; therefore, we can boldly come before the Father with our requests and expect to find mercy and grace to help in time of need.

Not only bold, but confident.  1 John 5:14-15 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”  We can be confident because we know that God truly cares for us.  1 Peter 5:6-7 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

This access to the Father is only for those who do His will.  Proverbs 15:29 “The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.”

Let us give praise to God and thanks that we can boldly come before Him and can be confident that He cares for us and hears our prayers!
